The story
JINGJI Aristocrat Cuisine by Rong serves Hunanese and Sichuan cooking on the second floor of The Ritz-Carlton, 83A Jianguo Road, Chaoyang, Beijing. The Michelin Guide awarded it one Star in 2026 for high quality cooking.
The Black Pearl Restaurant Guide gave it 3 Diamonds in 2026. It describes a kitchen rooted in official cuisine, the refined house cooking of gourmet officials and their family chefs. Seafood, dried delicacies and other rare ingredients lead the menu. Dishes are built on different broths, with less oil and salt, no additives and low-temperature techniques.
The restaurant belongs to Xinrongji, which began on 1 October 1995 as a roadside stall in Linhai, Taizhou, Zhejiang. Founder Rong Shu says the group's sub-brands, Jingji among them, blend official cuisine with Hunanese cooking. The house motto reads "seek truth in food, then beauty."
