The story
Sotto Sotto, an Italian restaurant at 120 Avenue Road in Toronto, earned two forks from Gambero Rosso in 2025, and it received a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2003. The Italian kitchen serves lunch and dinner, with outdoor seating and space for private parties.
The gnocchi are made in-house with semolina, a durum wheat flour that the restaurant describes as high in protein and low in fat. A recent menu paired them with lamb ragù and Mediterranean rosemary. The cannoli are traditionally made, filled with a creamy ricotta-based filling and served three to an order.
The Caffè Corretto Espresso Martini combines vodka, Caffè Cornetto liqueur and espresso beans, topped with a creamy foam. It works as a starter or a finish to the meal. Sotto Sotto enforces a dress code and asks guests to dress for an upscale evening.
