The story
Gia is a plant-forward Italian restaurant at 1214 Dundas St. W. in Toronto, and it earned a Michelin Recommended mention in 2026. The kitchen is among the first in Canada to receive that recognition from the Michelin Guide.
The corn agnolotti are filled with mascarpone and Ontario corn, then finished with chanterelles, charred corn, Parmesan and butter. The risotto funghi is slow cooked Carnaroli rice with organic mushrooms, garlic and white wine. For a heartier main, the lion's mane bistecca is pan seared and served with mashed potatoes and a rich demi. The menu marks plant-based and gluten-free dishes with clear symbols.
The dining room seats 36, with six seats at the bar counter and a patio for weather-permitting service. Reservations go through OpenTable, and the largest table seats up to 12 guests. Parties larger than five are not accepted on Friday or Saturday evenings.
