The story
GEORGE Restaurant at 111c Queen St. E. in Toronto is a seasonal Canadian kitchen led by Executive Chef Lorenzo Loseto. It holds a Michelin Recommended mention for 2026, and its menus change with the seasons and the chef's direction.
Loseto has cooked at GEORGE for two decades and is known for a contemporary Canadian approach built on local, seasonal ingredients. The kitchen also draws on global influences. The signature Chef's Choice tasting comes in five, seven or ten courses, and each one is tailored to the guest from a pool of up to 20 original dishes.
The à la carte menu has listed tuna tataki with fennel and tapioca, venison with fingerling potato and squash, and sea bass with polenta and sunchoke. A vegetarian menu runs alongside it, with avocado brûlée, matcha vinaigrette and quinoa among its opening courses. At lunch, the kitchen serves ricotta agnolotti with preserved lemon and tarragon, and foie gras with potato pavé and roast mango.
The dining room sits inside a restored 1850s chocolate factory on Queen Street East, where contemporary art hangs alongside the historic building. Guests come for intimate dinners, weddings, corporate events and cocktail receptions. Trained sommeliers pair wines course by course, and the wine program earned a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2020. Secrette Speakeasy Bar sits next door for a drink before dinner, and the kitchen makes its own gelato, with chocolate brûlée and caramelized apple tart on the dessert list.
