The story
Pasta Shihoma is an Italian kitchen at R. Medeiros de Albuquerque, 431, in São Paulo's Vila Madalena district. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Bib Gourmand in 2026 for good quality, good value cooking.
Shihoma Pasta Fresca opened in May 2020, just after the pandemic began, initially as a way to bring fresh pasta into people's homes. Márcio Shihomatsu, a partner in São Paulo, moved from finance into cooking and trained at George Brown College in Canada. Joey Lim, partner and creative chef, studied at the International Culinary Center in New York before joining the restaurant in 2021.
Folha named Shihoma the best Italian restaurant in São Paulo for its value in 2023, and Gambero Rosso lists it with one fork in 2025. The listing notes outdoor seating, table service, and BYOB, so guests can bring their own bottle with their pasta.
