The story
Maní is a contemporary Brazilian restaurant at Rua Joaquim Antunes, 210, in the Jardim Paulistano neighborhood of São Paulo. It earned one Michelin star in 2026 for high-quality cooking. The kitchen is run by chefs Helena Rizzo and Willem Vandeven, who have served their Brazilian menu from the same address since 2006.
Helena Rizzo grew up in Rio Grande do Sul and became a cook when she realized she could put her dreams, restlessness and artistic drive on a plate. Willem Vandeven is Belgian. His parents ran a shop selling vegetables, cured meats and cheeses, and that is where he learned to respect good ingredients.
The cooking is original Brazilian food, made with organic produce whenever possible. The restaurant offers a tasting menu and a chef's table, and the wine list is designed to pair with the food.
Maní occupies a small white house with a bright, sunny feel. The room has air conditioning, and valet parking is available for guests arriving by car.
