The story
Giuseppe Grill Leblon is a Brazilian steakhouse at Bartolomeu Mitre Ave. 370 in Rio de Janeiro, listed as Michelin Recommended in 2026. Beef and seafood are cooked over coal here, with a deep wine cellar to match.
The kitchen works two techniques, the grill and the barbecue, both fired with coal, which the restaurant describes as rare in Rio. Cuts such as maminha and the house-branded Picanha Supra Sumo have earned it recognition as the city's best meat from Veja Rio, O Globo and Gula. Seafood gets the same treatment.
Fishermen deliver groupers, red snappers, lobsters and centollas each day. They are laid out in the dining hall, so guests choose their fish before it goes on the fire. For a steakhouse, that is a generous second act.
More than 400 labels from 16 countries fill the list, drawn from both the Old and New World. Wine Spectator gave the cellar its Best of Award of Excellence in 2025. The restaurant says the list suits different tastes and budgets, and the setting is rustic and casual rather than formal.
Service is polished, though the mood stays relaxed and cozy. The space can be reserved in full for parties, weddings and company events, with seating configurations from a 24-person imperial table up to a 60-guest cocktail.
