The story
L'Horizon is a contemporary cuisine restaurant in Wavre, Belgium, with its dining room at rue du Moulin 50 in Chaumont-Gistoux. Gault&Millau awarded it 15 points in 2026, and the kitchen builds its evening around a tasting menu inspired by chef Alexandre Ciriello's travels.
Alexandre Ciriello leads the kitchen and trained under Peter Goossens before working with Yves Mattagne. He also took part in Objectif Top Chef, the television competition hosted by Philippe Etchebest. The restaurant describes his cooking as a balance of precision and creativity, shaped by time in Asia, Croatia, Taiwan, the Maldives and Hong Kong.
The menu runs from five to seven services, and the seven-course Le Grand Voyage is the longest option. A vegetarian menu of five, six or seven services is served blind and only on reservation. The dining room seats 16, which keeps the room small and the service close to the table.
Pairings include natural wines from selected producers, craft beers, and non-alcoholic drinks made in-house with infusions, fermentations and broths. Sommelier Lény Michel, a semi-finalist in the Best Sommelier of Belgium competition, builds the wine list and the pairings.
