The story
Kok Sur Mer is a modern French restaurant at Warvinge 49 in Vlissegem, Belgium, awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026 for good quality, good value cooking.
Gault&Millau gave the kitchen a 14 in 2026 and describes Jean-Philippe Furnémont's cuisine as seasonal. He sets the tone early with refined amuse-bouches, among them a marinated cherry tomato tartare with creamy Parmesan cream and a crunchy sesame crumble.
The French kitchen leans on shellfish and spring produce. Langoustine carpaccio arrives with citrus, chives and Jerusalem artichoke. Mechelen asparagus is paired with wagyu, morels and wild garlic. Turbot comes with hand-peeled grey shrimp, meat jus and bintje potato, and a lasagne combines lobster, green beans, bisque, coconut and lime. Dessert is a mille-feuille of rhubarb, pineapple, Greek yogurt and Dulcey chocolate.
The tasting menu runs to five courses at €86, with wines or alcohol-free juices for an extra €30. A six-course version is also offered. A shorter lunch menu, three courses at €38 in the week listed, is available on Saturday midday as well.
