The story
Eyckerhof is a modern French restaurant in Puurs, at Spuistraat 21 in Bornem, rated 15 by Gault&Millau in 2026. For forty years the house has been a fixture in the area, and it now has a new generation in charge.
After chef Ferdy Debecker stepped away, his daughter and son-in-law Nicolas Mylle took over the classics and gave them a modern turn. Nicolas and Charlotte Debecker met at the Spermalie hotel school and worked in several top restaurants before taking on Eyckerhof. Michelin's 2025 comment, quoted on the restaurant's site, puts the style simply: the base remains classic, and creative nuances bring it to life.
The tasting menu runs from four to seven courses. It opens with tuna sashimi, ponzu and curry, then asparagus à la flamande. Pommes Moscovite arrives with 15 grams of Royal Belgian caviar. Langoustine with X.O. and sour cream, and turbot with risotto, lead toward strawberry with basil and yoghurt. The à la carte adds European lobster with curry and Granny Smith, Wagyu, and a vanilla soufflé. Wine or juice pairings are offered.
The lunch menu follows the market, and the cheese comes from Van Tricht, aged farmhouse varieties that can replace dessert. The house describes its setting as dreamy, and it also hosts private dining for groups. Michelin lists Eyckerhof as Recommended for 2026.
