The story
Meteor is at Sint-Amandusstraat 5 in Heffen, near Mechelen, Belgium, where the kitchen works with organic, vegetable-led cooking. Gault&Millau gave it 13 points for 2026, praising a kitchen that uses mostly organic and local produce and lets the seasons set the plate. The restaurant calls itself an artisanal restaurant at the foot of the church on Heffen's village square.
The restaurant says it works locally and follows the rhythm of nature. Gault&Millau notes few garnishes and plates that let the base ingredient speak. Michelin lists Meteor as Recommended for 2026.
The dinner menu is 99 euros per person and runs Thursday to Saturday, while Friday lunch starts at 55 euros. Dishes on the published menu include fresh cappelletti with coeur de boeuf and basil, cauliflower with maitake, and aubergine with barigoule jus. One later course pairs peach with fig and mascarpone.
A wine pairing is offered at 48 euros for four glasses, and a juice pairing at 36 euros. The wine list has a dedicated orange wine section and bottles from producers such as Radikon and De Ranke. Non-alcoholic options include a kombucha suggestion and a rhubarb and cassis drink.
