The story
Le Vieux Château, at Rue Docteur Degavre 23 in Flobecq, is a modern cuisine restaurant set in a 17th-century castle, and it holds a Michelin star (2026). Chef Tanguy De Turck leads the kitchen.
Tanguy De Turck took on the ruined castle in 2002 and started with a small tavern. It grew into a starred restaurant over the following years. Gault&Millau gave the restaurant 15 points in 2026, and the guide praises the castle as one of the most beautiful in the country. The menu changes with the seasons, and the garden menu relies on vegetables from the organic farm De Zaailing.
Norwegian langoustine comes with Ratte du Touquet potatoes and House of Caviar, while Wagyu A5 is served with Sucrine lettuce, shallot and frites. The beetroot Wellington, with potato croissant and red wine sauce, appears on both the à la carte and garden menus. The signature dessert pairs chocolate from Cédric de Taeye with grilled peanuts and kalamansi, and a vegan version is also on the menu.
