The story
Un Max de Goût, at quai de l'Ourthe 17 in Comblain-au-Pont, Belgium, is a modern cuisine restaurant that earned one Michelin star in 2026. The kitchen works with local producers and builds its menus around quality products.
Chef Max Zimmer, originally from Sprimont, settled along the Ourthe and opened the restaurant in the stone, glass and wood house he chose there. He describes his cooking as research-driven, high in flavour and generous, always looking for original preparations. Gault&Millau gave the restaurant 15 points in 2026 and noted that his cooking remains highly creative while seeking more balance.
The menus run from three to six services. The six-course Menu Prestige, at 110 €, moves from veal with cucumbers and oysters to lobster with carrots and cardamom, and ends with strawberries flavoured with vanilla and Timut pepper. A four-course Menu Evasion is 75 €, and a three-course lunch-only Petite Découverte is 60 €. Wine pairings and a non-alcoholic pairing are offered alongside each menu.
Dining room service is led by Erika, who runs the room alongside Max. The restaurant suits business lunches, romantic dinners and relaxed meals, and it offers outdoor seating and wheelchair access.
