The story
Den Duyventooren, at Bellemdorpweg 68 in Bellem, serves a modern French menu that earned a Gault&Millau score of 12 for 2026. The name comes from an 18th-century dovecote at the entrance of the restored castle farm.
Chef Inge Herteleer cooks with daily fresh produce, some of it grown on the property. The kitchen mixes classic and contemporary dishes, and the menus change with the seasons. On weekday afternoons the restaurant also offers a business lunch, served on Monday, Thursday and Friday.
Recent menus have included sashimi of sesame-seared tuna with edamame and wasabi sorbet, and a grilled tagliata with chimichurri and herb potatoes. Dessert can be a pavlova with red fruit and Bellem strawberry sorbet, or a selection of cheeses from master cheesemonger Van Tricht. The three-course menu is priced at €57 per person without drinks.
The dining room has been fully renovated and has a warm, atmospheric interior. When the weather allows, guests can eat on the terrace.
