The story
Ni Shifu is a Sichuan kitchen at Breydelstraat 8 in Antwerpen, Belgium, and earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026 for good-quality, good-value cooking. The Chinese restaurant sits near Antwerp Central Station, and its menu runs from Sichuan classics to fondue.
The chef, Ni Shifu, has practiced Sichuan cooking for more than 18 years, three of them at this restaurant. The kitchen relies on garlic, chili peppers and the distinctive flavor of Sichuan pepper. The restaurant states that every dish is prepared according to Sichuan technique, not only a handful of signature plates.
Le Fooding highlights spicy white cabbage and pork wontons in hot sauce, salt and pepper squid, and crispy duck with Peking sauce, served with sweet and sour cucumber. Homemade noodles with minced pork and satay sauce round out the list. The printed menu is organized by course, with sections for soup, starters, seafood, duck and lamb, pork, chicken, vegetables, tofu, noodles and fried rice.
The restaurant describes its dining room as relaxed, and its hosts as welcoming. Belgian food media have covered it, including a review in the magazine Gastromania. Wine and soft drinks appear on the menu alongside the food.
