The story
Nebo is a modern French restaurant in Antwerp, at Panamarenkoplein 5, where chef Dimitri De Koninck holds a Michelin star listed for 2026. The room sits in the Nieuw Zuid district and the kitchen works from a contemporary French base.
Dimitri De Koninck opened Nebo after years cooking in other restaurants, and he runs the kitchen with his partner Michelle Gielens, who is hostess and sommelier. The restaurant says every dish is prepared à la minute from seasonal ingredients. Pure flavours and unexpected pairings guide the cooking. Gault&Millau awarded the restaurant 16.5 for 2026.
The Full Experience menu moves through hamachi "ikejime", bluefin tuna akami and chutoro, Norwegian king crab, wild turbot with sake and yuzu kosho, and Limousin milk-fed veal with yuzu and blackberry. It is served only on Friday and Saturday evenings. Lunch runs in four- or five-course formats, and a pescatarian version is possible if you mention it at least 24 hours ahead.
Gault&Millau describes the interior as high-end design, refined down to small details. Michelle Gielens guides the wine list, and the à la carte menu asks for at least a starter and a main course. Guests with severe allergies should flag them when booking, since the kitchen cannot guarantee gluten-, lactose-, soy- or egg-free dishes.
