The story
The Restaurant Pendolino is a fine dining Italian restaurant at Shop 100/412/414 George St, Sydney, and it holds one Gambero Rosso fork (2023). The menu is built around fresh pasta and Australian extra virgin olive oil.
Executive Chef and proprietor Nino Zoccali leads the kitchen. Pasta is made fresh each day in a dedicated pasta kitchen. Each guest receives a selection of Australian extra virgin olive oils with freshly baked bread at the start of the meal, and the restaurant takes its name from the Tuscan Pendolino olive.
The 2026 Australian Good Food Guide entry highlights the lean ravioli with browned butter. It is a handmade ravioli filled with spinach, Parmigiano Reggiano, Gruyere and buffalo mozzarella, finished with burnt butter and sage.
The restaurant sits on the second floor of the Victorian-era Strand Arcade, in an opulent, private setting. Its private dining room suits corporate functions, birthdays, engagements, weddings and boardroom meetings.
