The story

Fallachan Kitchen, Glasgow: Modern Cuisine at a 12-Seat Chef's Table

Fallachan Kitchen sits in Arch 15 at 8 Eastvale Place in Glasgow, serving modern cuisine at a single communal table of twelve seats. Michelin recommended it in 2026, and the cooking of chef Craig Grozier is the reason people hunt down this railway arch.

The cooking

Grozier's style is pared back and confident, built around the essence of each ingredient. The Good Food Guide describes it as unquestionably Scottish, with wider influences folded in. Menus follow the seasons and lean on hyper-local produce, with a nod to the people who grow, forage, harvest or preserve it. Set lunch and evening tasting menus change from spring to summer.

The room

The kitchen is open, and the arch is part of the meal. Diners smell the open fire, hear trains rumble overhead and catch the clatter of knives and pans. Everyone shares the one table, which suits a convivial group better than a quiet date. The Good Food Guide notes that staff keep the mood celebratory, like a small secret event, and it named the restaurant one of its Readers Recommend picks for 2026.

Drinks

A sommelier handles the wine pairings, and the cocktails take a local twist. Separate wine and drinks lists sit alongside the tasting menus.

The Good Food Guide — Readers Recommend

Craig Grozier’s cooking is deft, confident and pared back to the essence of ingredients and flavour, but there are many good chefs who do that. What's different is the small scale, the communality, the sense of discovery in a quasi-industrial venue in a hidden location – a re-purposed railway arch on the southernmost fringes of the West End. Here, all the senses are engaged: the smell of open fire cooking, the percussive rumble of overhead trains, the clatter of knives and pans. But with just twelve seats at a communal table in the kitchen, not everyone will like it – we certainly wouldn't head here for an intimate date night. That said, the staff are adept at managing and enabling a positive and celebratory atmosphere and facilitating that sense of being at some exclusive or secret event. Unquestionably Scottish while integrating wider geographic and stylistic influences, the set lunch and evening tasting menus have a strong seasonal identity and are a homage to those who grow, forage, harvest or preserve. Ambitious cocktails with a local twist and imaginative wine pairings are offered by a passionate sommelier. And it works, although with quite limited opening hours, it’s hard to get a reservation.
