The story
avatāra serves vegetarian Indian fine dining at Business Park 1, Dubai Hills Estate, Dubai, and holds one MICHELIN Star for 2026, recognised for high quality cooking. The evening follows a set sequence of courses, with no à la carte ordering.
Executive Chef Omkar Walve grew up in Mumbai, helping his mother run food stalls at a local fair. He joined the Trèsind Group in 2017 before moving to avatāra. In 2023, at 29, he received the MICHELIN Guide Dubai Young Chef Award for his role in shaping the tasting menu, which reworks vegetarian heritage into dishes the team describes as thoughtful and unexpected.
Guests can choose a 17-course experience menu, a 12-course experience menu, or a pairing menu, with a separate beverage menu. Vegan and gluten-free versions are available on request, and diners are asked to share allergies and dietary needs when booking. The restaurant also holds a 3 Radishes rating in the We're Smart Green Guide for 2026, alongside its sustainability practices in the kitchen.
