The story
Groven at Stradon 8 in Biasca is a classic cuisine kitchen that earned 15 points from Gault&Millau in 2026. Chef patron Alan Rosa cooks the menu with local game, seasonal produce and a cheese room that holds up to 50 varieties, many from Ticino and Italy.
Alan Rosa trained at the Palace in Gstaad and the Schweizerhof in Bern before taking over the family restaurant. His agnolotti del plin come in two versions, one with duck ragù and one with ibex (stambecco). Game such as roe deer, chamois and marmot appears in season, and tables fill quickly then, so booking ahead is wise. Michelin lists Groven as Recommended for 2026.
The Cantina del formaggio keeps its cheeses at controlled temperature and humidity, including many lesser-known specialities from Ticino and Italy. The wine list is extensive, and the sommelier can suggest a bottle for each course. The foie gras terrine with Sauternes jelly stays on the menu year-round.
