The story
The Italian kitchen at Gambero Rosso da Domenico, Mühle 2 in Eibelstadt (97246), near Würzburg, earned a Michelin Recommended mention for 2026. The menus draw on Italian and Mediterranean cooking, with the house focused on what the chef calls Domenico's own style.
Domenico's cooking starts from Italian dishes and Mediterranean basics. His philosophy page names Tropea onions from Calabria and Pachino tomatoes from Sicily as ingredients that cost little in Italy but feel like small luxuries in Germany. The Menü Teresuzza is dedicated to his mother, while the Menü Domenico reworks traditional Italian cooking and places rich and simple components on one plate.
The restaurant sits directly on the Main, with a view over the greenery and an Italian interior full of small considered details. The Schlemmer Atlas credits the house-baked bread and the Italian wines the chef selects. Many bottles come from small growers he has visited in person, imported directly, and the same wines can be bought to take home from the small enoteca.
