The story
Feine Speiseschenke stands at Winkelberg 13 in Nordhausen, in the village of Rüdigsdorf, and cooks an international menu with a Mediterranean streak. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Bib Gourmand in 2026 for good quality, good value cooking.
The kitchen buys most of its produce in the region and prepares it fresh. Meat comes from Scottish Highland cattle of the Berghof Forst, which guests can visit on a short walk, and from bison raised on the owners' own land. Both are kept extensively, and the restaurant credits this for the quality of the meat. Local specialities get Mediterranean touches rather than heavy reworking.
Two surprise menus are served by candlelight: three courses at 50 euros per person, five courses at 73 euros. Each begins with a glass of sparkling wine and includes a litre of still water. Adding wine brings the price to 57 and 87 euros, with a glass at the main course (and at the starter, for the longer menu). The restaurant also keeps a wine list for à la carte meals.
Patricia and Andreas Oberbüchler have run the restaurant as an independent, family-style business since 2013. The Schlemmer Atlas gave it 2.5 Kochlöffel in 2026 and describes a rural restaurant behind half-timbered walls, with an outdoor area under trees. Private dining is available, and guests can stay overnight. One visitor mentioned that the only sound in the morning was birdsong.
