The story

Stube ZWEI.NULL in Langenau | Swabian Cooking at Gasthof zum Bad

Stube ZWEI.NULL at Burghof 11 in Langenau serves Swabian cooking inside the Gasthof zum Bad, and the Schlemmer Atlas awarded it 2 Kochlöffel in 2026. The Häge family opened the dining room at the start of 2025.

Swabian dishes, old and new

The menu is regional and hearty, written in both traditional and modern styles. Maultaschen soup, cheese spätzle and onion roast beef are the kind of plates guests find here. Some recipes come from earlier generations of the house. Hans Häge Jr. reinterprets them without losing the original idea.

A family kitchen under one roof

The Häge family has run the inn since 1921, and the Stube is a tribute to the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents who kept it. Hans Häge Sr. still helps his son in the kitchen. Next door, the fine dining restaurant Hochzwei has held a Michelin star since 2013. The Stube draws on that kitchen's skill while keeping its own relaxed, down-to-earth footing.

Concept A kitchen that delights traditionalists and cosmopolitan diners at a high level. Kitchen Style Hans Häge Jr. took over as head chef in 2013, but his father Hans continues to lend a helping hand. Together, they succeed in making tradition lovers and curious diners happy – which also explains the restaurant’s name. For example, two preparations of veal with broccoli, celery purée, and napkin dumplings. The fish menu features lake trout with cauliflower, ponzu, and pear, or monkfish with North Sea shrimp and green curry. The signature “Hans Häge” menu serves veal shank ravioli with eel, pumpkin, and bullhead caviar. Wine Finding the perfect pairing is the specialty of sommelier Gitte Benz. Atmosphere The service is friendly, and the bright room with widely spaced tables creates a pleasant atmosphere. Concept A kitchen that delights traditionalists and cosmopolitan diners at a high level.
