The story
L'Arôme, at Neue Mainzer Str. 20 in Frankfurt am Main, is a fine dining restaurant with an Asian-European menu. Der Feinschmecker gave it 2.5 in its 2026 guide. The kitchen runs set menus of four, five or six courses that move between European and Asian cooking.
Chef Hai Hoang Minh, born in Vietnam, pairs flavours with a precise hand. Iced tomato essence comes with buffalo mozzarella, chrysanthemum and soy. Lamb saddle is served with savoury ratatouille and silken tofu, and scallop gets a sharp lift from an intense kimchi velouté. Schlemmer Atlas rated his modern six-course menu at 2.5 spoons.
The dining room uses warm colours, and Der Feinschmecker describes its interior as charming. The wine pairing follows each course, with several German wines, some served by the glass. The restaurant has two areas: a ground floor with live cooking, and a fine dining floor above. The menu is also served on the terrace.
