The story
Höchster Genuss Schmiede is a family-run Mediterranean fine dining restaurant at Melchiorstr. 20 in Frankfurt am Main, in the Höchst district. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded it 2 Kochlöffel in 2026.
The menu moves between Provence, Italy and the German table. Bouillabaisse Provençale comes with Mediterranean fish, prawn, mussel and saffron rouille. Pasta alla Chitarra pairs red prawns with truffle and cherry tomatoes. The black tagliolini arrive with beurre blanc, green asparagus and hazelnuts. Königsberger Klopse get a new reading, served with a caper and lemon sauce.
Veal Wiener Schnitzel is served with house-made potato salad. The pink-roasted lamb fillet sits on creamy polenta with ratatouille and rosemary jus. Black Angus fillet from Argentina comes with Anna potatoes. For dessert there is a limoncello parfait, a coco-noir slice with dark ganache, or a plate of aged cheeses.
The dining room fills a historic building, with exposed brickwork, high ceilings and white tablecloths. The wine list is organised by region and style. It opens with Champagne and sparkling wines, then runs through whites from Germany, Italy, France and Spain, and reds from Germany, Italy, Croatia, France, Spain and the New World.
