The story
Wilde Klosterküche, at Bahnhofstraße 18 in Neuzelle, 15898, serves a seasonal German kitchen in the Eisenhüttenstadt area, and it earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026 for good quality, good value cooking. The restaurant sits in the Baroque monastery town along the Oder-Neisse Valley.
Christian Bauer leads the kitchen, which has cooked a seasonal menu since 2018. After years of travel, the team returned to its home region and built the menu around regional origin and the full use of each ingredient. The producers and suppliers it works with are treated fairly, and the menu changes with the season.
Der Feinschmecker rated the restaurant 3 for 2026 and singled out its sourcing. Neuzell potatoes come with bread rolls, vanilla, cucumber and liver sausage from a butcher across the street. Dry-aged Neuzell venison is served with savoy cabbage, savoy cabbage chips, chestnut, butter-raisin brioche and a demi-glace. A vegan five-course menu is available on request with advance notice.
The dining room has anthracite walls, parquet floors and soft lighting, with a view into the glass kitchen. The service team is young and international. Drinks lean local, with beers from the Neuzell Monastery Brewery and a house-distilled flaxseed gin. Brunch and a picnic option are also on the schedule.
