The story
Riad Mediterrane Genusswelten sits at Wartburgstraße 281 in Castrop-Rauxel, serving Mediterranean and North African dishes on a small island directly on the canal. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded it 1.5 Kochlöffel in 2026.
The chef presents modern interpretations of Mediterranean dishes with seasonal influences at the restaurant's culinary events. For private and business events, the team builds the menu from market-fresh ingredients, through decoration and service. In the summer garden, the kitchen moves from Mediterranean plates to hearty traditional fare, so younger and older guests both find something to order.
The Moroccan room covers 30 square metres and seats up to 45, with its own sound system and step-free access. Belly dancers can be booked as a show for the room. The summer garden spans 600 square metres over two Mediterranean-styled levels, with space for up to 450 guests and floor lights that turn it into an "Oase der Nacht" after sunset.
