The story
Kesselhaus, at Pfählerstr. 7 in Bad Urach, serves a Swabian kitchen that earned 2 Kochlöffel in the Schlemmer Atlas for 2026. The restaurant occupies the boiler house of a former brewery, and its cooking sits between regional classics and French and international influences.
The Schlemmer Atlas highlights Swabian classics as the core of the menu. A set lunch menu is offered, and an open kitchen keeps the cooking visible from the dining room. From August 2026, Constantin Krauß, formerly sous chef at The Table in Hamburg, takes over the kitchen.
The boiler house is styled in a modern way, with a bar, wall art and industrial accessories. Those industrial details give the room its character, and the setting suits a long lunch as well as an evening meal.
