The story
Waldinger, in Osijek's city centre at Županijska ulica 8, runs a modern European kitchen inside a protected Art Nouveau building. Gault&Millau awarded it 14 points in 2026, and the Michelin Guide lists it as Recommended that year.
The menu moves between meat and fish, with traditional recipes given contemporary preparation. Goose liver or carp pâté, pike-perch fillet and chestnut cream soup sit alongside beefsteak and veal cheeks. A risotto with black pig cheeks and a Kung Pao chicken show how wide the kitchen reaches.
Large glass windows let the city into view while keeping its noise outside. The restaurant shares the building with a lounge and wine bar. The wine list leans on family-owned vineyards in Slavonia and Baranja, and a glass of sparkling wine works well as an aperitif.
